The order portfolio of Hydrobudowa Polska increased by another "sport" contract. The Company will build together with PBG a multi-functional hall in Toruń for the net price of PLN 99 mln.
On Thursday, 7 April, a contract was signed for the construction of a sport and show arena along with accompanying infrastructure at Bema Street in Toruń. The contract worth net PLN 99 mln (gross PLN 121.8 mln) will be performed by the Consortium led by Hydrobudowa Polska with a partner, a majority shareholder, i.e. PBG. Each Company will be responsible for the execution of 50% of the work provided for in the contract pursuant to which the hall is planned to be completed within 550 days, counting from the date of the contract, i.e. by October 2012. The Contractor will have time for developing greenery around the facility by mid-December of the next year.
The purpose of the investment carried out at Bema Street in Toruń is the creation of a centre that will function as a training centre, place for sports events, cultural and leisure activities (e.g. concerts), as well as fairs.
The hall in Toruń is the seat for such facilities as:
- main arena of athletics, equipped with a 6-lane running track with a length of 200 meters, with a possibility to be adapted to other functions (volleyball, handball, basketball, tennis and hockey)
- training hall with dimensions of a handball field, as well as a climbing wall with a length of nearly 30 meters and height of 14 meters,
- martial arts hall,
- body building gym,
- changing rooms and toilets, adapted to the guidelines of sports federations,
- ambulatory,
- Spa.
With the adopted solutions that meet the highest quality requirements, an adequate number of seats in the stands and the possibilities of television broadcasting, the facility will be able to host competitions and tournaments of international importance. The facility also plays a hotel-administrative function and includes commercial areas such as a restaurant and bowling alley.
The hall provides 6,248 seats for spectators (not counting the commentary positions and VIP seats), 5192 of which are permanent stands and 1056 are temporary stands. Spectacular events will be able to accommodate an additional number of approximately 3,000 seats as a result of chairs arranged on the arena board or sectors separated for standing positions.
A monumental façade with a point LED lighting system will be a characteristic element of the designed facility emphasizing its modernity. A huge multimedia screen, which was created this way, will be able to serve as a place for information during the sporting field, as well as advertising.
