In Gdańsk together with Spaniards
Polish-Spanish consortium led by Hydrobudowa Poland is building the middle section of Słowackiego Route in Gdańsk for 129.3 million PLN net.
The contract signed on Friday, March 11, is performed by Hydrobudowa Polska together with PBG, Aprivia and Obrascon Huarte Lain, a leading Spanish construction company.Aprivia, like Hydrobudowa Polska, belongs to PBG Group. On the other hand, OHL is the future strategic investor of HBP and Aprivia, with which the companies already cooperate at acquisition of new orders.
The value of the contract is 129.3 million PLN net (more than 159 million PLN gross).Hydrobudowa Polska, PBG Group and Aprivia will be responsible for performance of 50% of the scope of works, and the remaining 50% falls to their Spanish partner.
Słowackiego Route, connecting Gdańsk airport with the seaport, will have approximate length of 10 km and will run next to the football stadium PGE Gdańsk Arena, built by HBP, where, among others, three group games and quarterfinals of the UEFA 2012 European Football Championship will be held.
This investment being a key to improve transport in Gdańsk is divided into four tasks.The contract concluded on Friday applies to task no. 2 and includes over a 3.3-kilometer section from Potokowa Street to Rzeczpospolitej Avenue (the so-called middle section).The contract, apart from construction of a two-lane route, covers also:
- construction of a flyover over Grunwaldzka Avenue, with length of 126 meters,
- construction of a flyover over tracks of Polish National Railways, with length of 97 meters,
- construction of three tunnels for pedestrians,
- reconstruction of intersections and sections of side streets,
- reconstruction of underground infrastructure.
The consortium has undertaken to perform the entrusted task within 20 months.Before that – until the end of May 2012 – at least one roadway of the route will be ready, from Potokowa Street to Chrzanowskiego Street, which will facilitate to inhabitants and supporters transport to the airport during Euro 2012 football games.
