EU budget for Poland in the years 2007 – 2013 – 63 billion EUR
The main objective of the Cohesion Fund in the area of environmental protection – improvement of flood protection. The investments projects planned in the area include: increasing the capacity of Poland's storage reservoirs by about 2 billion m³, to 3,3 billion m³, reconstruction of about 1000 km of embankments, river regulation of the area of 4000 km.

Modernization and construction of stadiums – Euro 2.5 billion
Acceleration of projects connected with road construction
Modernization and construction of airports in the cities of Warszawa, Poznań, Wrocław, Gdańsk, Katowice, Kraków, Szczecin, Rzeszów - Euro 396 million from EU budget plus Euro 370 million from local authorities.
The total value of water engineering projects as estimated by the Ministry of Environment amounts to EUR 6 billion. The investment plans include:
- Flood protection structures for the years 2002 - 2016 Euro 3.1 billion,
- Flood banks – for the years 2002 – 2016 Euro 364.5 billion.
